What do Stone statues, Red Knit caps, and Pinwheels have in common? Bhuddism symbology. As a bonus, there's also fallen sakura and moss.

More Torii. You can see some of the imperfections here, and the torii that were installed at different times. Some that have been repainted recently, others that have not.

The Osaka Aquarium is a great place to get upclose shots of stingrays, sharks, dolphins, penguins, and other sea mammals and creatures of all kinds.

Kyoto is a great place to randomly walk around. You just keep running into temples and shrines. This is Kiyomizu-dera, otherwise known as the matchmaking shrine or the scaffolding shrine. Seen here is the Pagoda stretching far above the tree tops.

<img src="http://img.ambientlight.ca/thumbs/383_thumb.jpg"><br />
The attention to detail of some things in Japan astounds me. This is Yokoami-cho garden, a small garden, surrounded by city buildings. The large pond has many Koi and Catfish, and everything is well maintained. This is probably because of the full-time gardener working out of a small shed in the corner of the park.

Nature is a big theme around temples and shrines in Japan. They generally end up as stone sculptures. In this case, it is a metal sculpture atop a temple building.
